Waterfront Retreat

The serene design of this waterfront home belies the logistical challenges inherent to this building site in Smithfield, Rhode Island. At the start of the project, the Owner discovered that recent changes to the state's wetlands permitting regulations would make it impossible to build at this location if the foundation construction was not completed within 6 months. I led the team on a sprint to design this home, obtain a building permit, and kick-off construction within 5 months.
